Fishing

Whether you head down the Missouri River or up to Lake Oahe, you’ll find a memorable fishing experience with tons of walleye, salmon, bass, northern, catfish, and panfish.

Lake Oahe is located just 4-5 miles north of Pierre, and it’s known as one of the best fishing spots in the Midwest. It’s 231 miles long and 205 feet deep, with clear water and plenty of fish.

The Missouri River offers opportunities not just for fishing but for on-shore activities like sailing, jet skiing, water skiing, camping, swimming, or just relaxing throughout the summer months.
